Hop on the Bandwagon
Tonight is the State of the Union address, and everybody is hopping on the “I hate the President” bandwagon. To be honest, the Democrats didn’t hop on, they are driving the bandwagon. The Democrats newest Iraq strategy is to state, before even hearing what the President’s strategy is, that he has no strategy for Iraq. I find this amusing because the last time I listened for the Democratic strategy for winning the war on terror, I heard crickets chirping… listen for it… *chirp chirp*.
The Democrats have no ideas on how to win the war, but have plenty of ideas on how to lose it. The last time I checked, the radical Muslims were enemies of the United States. They fully intend to kill us, and I do mean kill us all. The Democrats know this and have said so in the past, especially when it came to the danger that Saddam Hussein posed to our country. Allow me to share some of their words with you:
Sen. Hillary Clinton: “I Can Support The President, I Can Support An Action Against Saddam Hussein Because I Think It’s In The Long-Term Interests Of Our National Security …” (NBC’s “Meet The Press,’ 9/15/02)
DNC Chairman Howard Dean: “Everything The President Says About Saddam Hussein Is True. He’s Evil. He’s A Liar. He Gases His Own People.” (ABC’s “This Week,” 12/22/02)
Rep. Pelosi: “Saddam Hussein Certainly Has Chemical And Biological Weapons. There’s No Question About That.” (NBC’s “Meet The Press,” 11/17/02)
Sen. Reid: “We Stopped The Fighting [In 1991] Based On An Agreement That Iraq Would Take Steps To Assure The World That It Would Not Engage In Further Aggression And That It Would Destroy Its Weapons Of Mass Destruction. It Has Refused To Take Those Steps. That Refusal Constitutes A Breach Of The Armistice Which Renders It Void And Justifies Resumption Of The Armed Conflict.” (Sen. Harry Reid, Congressional Record, 10/9/02, p. S10145)
President Clinton: “Earlier Today I Ordered America’s Armed Forces To Strike Military And Security Targets In Iraq… Their Mission Is To Attack Iraq’s Nuclear, Chemical And Biological Weapons Programs And Its Military Capacity To Threaten Its Neighbors …” (“Text Of Clinton Statement On Iraq Attack,” Agence France Presse, 12/17/98)
Wow… straight from their own mouths! Now, they are saying everything they can to pull troops that they, as much as President Bush, committed to a fight that is very noble. OK, let’s all leave Iraq tonight! Let’s let the terrorists have a new base of operations so they can plan their next strike on us. Let’s even tell Syria that they can send in the WMD’s that Saddam sent there to hide. Oh yeah, you didn’t hear about that, did you? All that time debating the war before it started gave Saddam time to ship all his chemical and biological weapons to Syria… hence why we didn’t find any. Why do you think Saddam wouldn’t let U.N inspectors in before the war started, as Sen. Reid stated in the quote above? Hmm….
We need to triple our efforts to stablize that country, because this is war and you can’t fight a war half-assed, like we did in Vietnam. If we don’t play for keeps, we won’t win… that’s a fact!
