And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. – Pink Floyd
Time is something I have a new appreciation for, especially now that I’m getting older. I’ve come to realize that pretty much everything else in life comes and goes, but time is the one thing you can never get back. Time is the one thing that you can never have enough of, can never bend it to your will and can never replace.
This is why planning how to make the most of time is the most important thing a person can do.
This holds especially true for someone like myself who has so very little time at my disposal. Working 7 days a week, every week, doesn’t leave the “weekends” to get things done. I find that most things require more time then what I have left over. The scraps of the day are just not enough for living.
So, it is with a newfound courage and wisdom that I shake my fist at the sky and say that I WILL NOT waste my life so that “ten years” get behind me with nothing to show for it. I will not miss the starting gun any longer. Damn the torpedoes, man. It’s time to storm the gates and burn the city down!
After all: If life is the greatest gift this world has bestowed on us, how criminal is it to squander it by not taking the time to take time?
