Greatest Achievement in Human History

As a thought, I’d like to ask you all a question: What do you think the greatest achievement in human history is and why?  Is it all the way back at the beginning when man tamed fire to cook his food and scare his predators?  How about the invention of the written word, or the mass production of such with the Gutenberg Press?  How about the splitting of the atom or landing on the Moon?

In the comments section below, I’d like to hear your thoughts.  What do you think is mankind’s greatest achievement and why do you think so?

Modern medicine by far, increasing the average life span of a person from around 30 to 80 while maintaining a much more healthy life. The fact that we can transplant organs from one body to another, apply gene therapy via retroviruses and cure cancers, is a step toward having complete dominion over our existence.

    • I think that is a good suggestion. The quality and longevity of life because of modern medicine is amazing, but I feel that once we fully crack the gene code, THAT is when a new age will dawn. Good choice!
